I am working with Dr. Han on data science projects in finance. We proposed Future Auditing Blockchain to enable collaborative financial auditing without compromising privacy. We are currently working with more than 2 million 10k filings of public companies and history stock prices to identify competitors and analyze competitors’ stock prices history with machine learning and natural language processing algorithms.

I worked in a data-driven healthcare research laboratory for Prof. Eva Lee. We analyzed big medical data sets with machine learning and statistic methods. I served as a team leader in a group of ten to help facilitate communication and balance tasks. I also got the chance to build bio-surveillance platform by collecting, analyzing and visualizing influenza related information social media, news source and CDC reports.

I worked as a research assistant for Prof. Calton Pu on Global Research of Applying Information Technology to Support Effective Disaster Management (GRIT-DM). I had the opportunity to add additional features for LITMUS, Landslide Detection by Integrating Multiple Sources, such as enable multilingual support, integrating news source into the system, and email notifications for large events. I learnt to apply machine learning and natural language processing algorithms to clear and classify unstructured text, such as tweets.
