• I was a member of the executive team with oversight of a budget of ~20 million ZAR, and lead Programme Manager of the Uptown community programme in inner-city Johannesburg. I was also a pastor in the church. • I had shared responsibility for the strategic direction and momentum of the organisation as a whole and participated functionally in all major decision-making processes, including financial, HR, and planning matters. • I initiated the Uptown programme in 2010 with an objective of driving social change in the complex, tense and struggling inner-city environment in Johannesburg during a time of high xenophobic sentiment. The programme developed to encompass multiple projects, dozens of volunteers, and numerous objectives. The programme is still growing and is successful. • My responsibilities as the Programme Manager in the Uptown programme included the alignment of the programme’s operations with the strategic momentum of the organisation as a whole, mentoring and coaching members, providing training and personal development input for all members, overseeing all administrative matters, and overseeing event and project management. • I oversaw all the projects within the Uptown programme and was the primary driver and designer of most of them. I co-ordinated events, directed marketing efforts, participated extensively in community relationship management, personally conducted workshops and training events, ran leadership development programmes, and mentored dozens of people. • The Uptown programme focuses on poverty alleviation, engaging with homelessness, employment preparation, women empowerment, domestic counseling and family support, migrant support and integration, and programmes amongst street children. The programme engages with over 100 people every week.

I helped to set up and run this physiotherapy practice for 10 years, providing administrative support and advice, accounting and bookkeeping services, people management advice and services, and governance advice on an ad hoc basis.Quinn Physiotherapists provided therapy services for musculo-skeletal conditions including back and neck pain, sports injuries, and joint pain as well as post-operative management therapy.

• I oversaw the management accounting processes of 23 enterprises (mostly property management and development oriented) and trusts with a combined annual turnover >15 million ZAR and assets in excess of 150 million ZAR. • I oversaw the redesign of company reporting systems and operating processes, which lead to increased departmental capacity and a significantly streamlined output. • I prepared books of account to audit readiness, assisted in audit processes, prepared weekly and monthly reports for the managing director, oversaw accounts payable, and bookkeeping processes, and prepared monthly and annual budgets and forecasts.

• I established a non-scheduled airline and operated it for the shareholders for 4+ yrs. • My responsibilities included business plan development and implementation, strategic planning, contract writing, management and negotiation, marketing oversight, staff management, financial planning, and operations management. • I also prepared all the operations manuals and designed all the operational procedures. • I applied for, obtained and managed all the necessary licenses, certificates, and authorisations necessary to operate an air service. • I had sole responsibility for assets valued at more than 20 million ZAR.
