Under contract for the National Security Agency (NSA)Developed Distributed Ruby (DRb) code to manipulate metadata into file formats compatible for ingestion into a Sybase database. For larger scale processing these Ruby classes were compiled with JRuby and used with Java MapReduce in a Hadoop/HDFS cluster.Fixed data quality issues with Ruby code to extract records from Sybase, correct metadata errors identified by data modeling team, and re-inserting. Designed data pipelines to audit and manage file transfers, processing, and database ingestion.

Researched and developed Raytheon’s Rapid Information Overlay Technology (RIOT - http://tinyurl.com/raytheon-riot), a highly scalable distributed information object system, with a six person Agile development team. RIOT was developed in Ruby while leveraging open source technologies including Hadoop for processing, Memcached as a cache store, Ferret for indexing, and Thrift to support multiple language bindings.Demonstrated RIOT capabilities through a Ruby on Rails interface to visualize interaction with object storage and retrieval system.Designed adapter code to interface with RIOT in Perl, Ruby, and Python to import social media data generated from Hadoop MapReduce jobs.Maintained dynamically reconfigurable development environment using Ubuntu and Kickstart to deploy various system components as needed.

Developed software installation procedures for the Tactical Exploitation System and Distributed Common Ground Station that integrated server based Geographic Information Systems(GIS) image management software.Lead integration and testing for Littoral Surveillance Radar System (LSRS), Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Ground System, and Airborne Node. System design required creative ideas to integrate into confined spaces on Humvee and Aircraft.
