Multi-billion dollar greenfields iron ore mine project, in West Australias Pilbara region.

Organisation Details: WestNet Energy is a leading provider of asset management and project management services to a wide range of critical infrastructure clients in both the gas and electricity fields in Western Australia. Notably it is the EPCM for the Dampier to Bunbury Pipeline. The latest stage of this project is the 2010 Australian Institute of Project Management's West Australian Project of the Year.Role details: Implemented and managed full integrated project services application, spanning portfolio management, project structuring and estimation, cost and schedule control (earned value management), contract and procurement management, document control, HR mobilisation, time management and demobilisation, engineering deliverables and query mechanisms and variations. System integrates through to Primavera, MS Project and Corporate ERP systems (SAP) and has direct uploading of subcontractor information to avoid duplication and rekeying. Project controls lead across a number of major ($15M upwards) projects supervising schedule, cost and document controllers from bid stage through to closeout.

Responsible for the risk, financial and associated business processes for enforcing the governments project and portfolio requirements across 200 projects in sixty funded organisations and a total of $300m in capital works. Managed a team of five to achieve this and it required strong understanding of regulatory and cultural difference and requirements in the Indigenous context.

Organisational Details: Minara Resources is one of the worlds largest nickel miners.Responsible for portfolio, program and project management systems for over a dozen projects including cost, schedule and document control during a major shutdown.

Organisation details: The Department of Health and Ageing has some 3,000 staff and a budget of over three billion. The WA State Office is responsible for the contract management of some $60 million in health services, and the local implementation of national priorities. Role details: Established the Business Management Unit (BMU) and led a team of five finance and risk professionals. Responsibilities ranged from the successful management of over $60 million in funding to services, to the financial control of some three million of internal operational funding. My team and I reviewed funding for 50 organisations to ensure the alignment of costs, time and quality against required project and program activity. Provided support to 12 project managers and two program managers.

Responsible for both carrying out major and minor corporate governance projects, including audits and investigations, for the University Secretary, and also for the administrative management of all areas of the Secretary's Office. This included the supervision of eleven staff both project and administrative and an operational budget of $3.5 million. Audit, legal services, risk management and insurance were all functions of the office.

Role details - Special Projects Officer, Database Systems and Knowledge Management: Development (as part of a consortium - requirements specification, JAD sessions and system testing) and implementation of a fully functional portfolio, program and project management system for all of the organisations research and commercial projects, including development of the Business Objects management reporting layer in the organisations data warehouse. This system was web based and included traffic light reports and automated threshold "push" alerting to relevant project and program authority matrices.Intial Role details - Grants and Information Assistant: Managed bid, execution, reporting and close processes across a range of projects in the university's diverse programs and portfolios. Managed the Australian Bureau of Statistics and National Health and Medical Council submissions coordinating all relevant projects and activities across the organisation to effect a university-wide submission. Became systems administrator of university's grants management system.
