I am the owner of a fully-licensed digital transcription company providing any and all transcription needs for various specialties. I have 20+ years of transcription experience. I have worked for the federal government and lawyers who need transcription for depositions or interviews. I have an extensive medical background working in numerous fields from acute care, clinic settings, orthopedics, chiropractic, ophthalmologic, physical therapy, psychiatric, and more. I also have experience with Independent Medical Examinations and case management summaries and reports. I have access to a secure FTP site for all transmissions and am fully equipped to work on a full-time, part-time, or as-needed basis.

In this position, I have worked for a variety of other medical transcription companies including a national company where I was an editor. I had the responsibility of supervising up to 20 other MTs below me and provide quality control for their documents. I worked in an acute care setting for a hospital, clinic, and nursing home along with providing professional transcripts for a variety of specialties while in this position. I had the opportunity to gain experience not only in a management/editor position (helping in the hiring and training process) but also with a variety of dictators (various nationalities, ESL, etc). I was also responsible for creating and providing templates and specific client instructions to those under my editing pool.

I transcribed and edited recorded and written material including patient history and examinations, physician letters and notes. Oversaw daily activities of the clinic to optimize productivity and quality of work. Responded to inquiries for release of medical information, ensuring that legal requirements were followed and proper consent was obtained. Distributed and collected dictation and transcribed reports; followed up on physician’s missing and late dictation. Sorted, copied, prepared, assembled, and filed records and charts. Helped in the hiring process along with training of new employees. Ensured strict confidentiality of medical records. Maintained disk and disk back up system; ordered supplies and reported equipment operational problems. Performed miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
