Profile bio

About Paul Lacey

I have over 20 years experience in leadership and management with 15+ years in professional project and program management in both hardware and software engineering dedicated towards pioneering early technology markets. My core background is in product and systems architecture, applied HCI research and development with expertise in working with diverse multidisciplinary teams using agile software development practices to create multimodal intent driven user interfaces and experiences.I enjoy stepping up to a challenge and working to bring impossible ideas to life, which currently is to create a truly immersive natural user interface that can seamlessly blend the tangible and digital. This requires a breakthrough in interaction fidelity where surfaces respond to the lightest touch and attention payed to the smallest micro-gesture or the most subtle of glances. There’s a long list of possible ingredients from fingertip and eye tracking to wearables and tangibles but any solution will likely require a fluid scheme that fuses subtle layers of rich context qualified input in a way that puts the user at the center of their own enchanted world where they can discover new spaces in familiar places.I’ve always wanted to create an Asimovian “Prime Radiant” in a way that lives up to the promise of science fiction. It would be immensely powerful to walk through notes and equations and use retinal grade displays to inspect infinitely scalable complex visualizations. And It would be equally moving to replay events, connect ideas and cultivate memories in such a unique and vivid space. I can't wait for the technology to be ready so I am working alongside a team of extraordinary people to make it happen piece by piece.Specialties: Human Systems Architecture, Cross-Functional Team Leadership, Technical Program Management, Human Input Engineering, Applied Perception Research, SDK & API Design, Agile Application & Framework Development, Systems V&V, Gesture Algorithm Design, Sensing & Perception, Intent Prediction, End-to-End Input Pipeline Modeling, Crossmodal Feature Fusion, Multi-user, Multimodal, Transmodal Input, Device Integration, Machine Learning Algoritm Dev, Product Management, Industrial Design, UX/UI Design, Unity, C/C#, MatLab, Statistical Analysis.

Listed skills include User Interface Design, User Experience, Web Development, Software Development, and 46 others.
