Coordination of Design Project work for pigging lines at the Mossel Bay Refinery and other related design projects.

Responsibilities• Managing of the Maintenance & Reliability work on the Synthol Area units and the development of strategies to ensure plant reliability and safe operation.Achievements• Managed to successfully lead the maintenance team through two train turnarounds and one plant shutdown in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Normal Maintenance Responsibilities• Plan, prioritize, schedule and implement plant mechanical equipment/machinery maintenance activities.• Execution of the Mechanical Reliability strategy and plans to ensure the maximum equipment availability for production to take place.• Identify, assess plant and equipment problems then perform troubleshooting and resolve the problems to ensure maximum availability and reliability of equipment for production to take place.• Participates in the execution of projects, (shutdown, turnarounds, etc.) to ensure that schedule, budget and quality targets are met.• Acts on behalf of the Area Superintendent when absent to ensure that the area continues to support the achievement of PetroSA objectives.• Lead and direct development and implementation of asset management strategy and business plans.• In consultation with all relevant individuals develop, monitor and manage the budget for the section to ensure that funds are sufficiently utilized for service delivery.PetroSA Shutdown 2013 Role and Responsibilities• Responsible for the mobilizing of the fabrication teams for the installation and repairs of pipelines on the Synthol unit.• Arrange and organize for all the Quality Control packs to be in place 8 months prior to the shutdown.• Ensure that prefabrications are completed 3-6 months prior to the shutdown. Draft a spreadsheet for the control of the prefabrication.• Coordinate the installation of the lines during the execution of the shutdown. Ensure that the welding is done within the allocated time frame as per the shutdown plan.• Liaise with the Quality control inspectors to ensure that the NDEs are done within the planned time frame and the quality control packs are closed out within schedule.

Graduate-In-Training Programme at PetroSAParticipant in the PetroSA Graduate training programme; where I rotated through the different Engineering Departments within PetroSA. I was first based with the Offshore Support - Mechanical Reliability Department reporting to the Mechanical Reliability Engineer. I was responsible for providing Mechanical onshore support to the FA Platform on the following projects on my portfolio: • Inspection & Cleaning of Aviation Fuel TanksAs the project leader tasked with the planning and overseeing of the cleaning and inspection of aviation fuel tanks at the George Heliport. Responsible to organize the permits, personnel, resources and all the other logistical requirements of the project. • Recertification of Pressure Safety Valves at the FA PlatformTasked with the planning, control and execution of the PSV recertification programme. I had a team of 4 people including myself as the project leader, one valve fitter and two mechanical fitters that were allocated to me.Then rotated to PetroSA Onshore Mechanical Reliability within the Synthol Mechanical Reliability Team reporting to the Area Superintendent. My responsibility was to oversee the maintenance / integrity of equipment and piping on the plant.

Attended leadership programs and also performed as a representative for my country South Africa in a couple of events held at the Universiti (i.e Convocation; International Culture Night etc)
