As a former student athlete and animal lover, majority of my early career has been split in half with two of my first loves. The first half includes receiving my bachelor's associate degree from Columbia College Chicago in Dance & Teaching which helped me continue my career under a Chicago based dance company for 7 years. There I was able to receive industry level training for live performances, competitions, auditions for concerts/music videos and worked my way up to being a member of the Artistic Circle where I cultivated with other team members strategies to encourage growth and creating pieces to set on company members. Teaching students along with adults of various different backgrounds plus ages in recreational or competition settings in studios across the states has helped me diversify my ability to connect with multiple backgrounds and different learning capabilities. The second half involves being a Veterinary Technician at different animal hospitals, providing medical care, diagnostic/lab work and patient intake information to assist the doctors on floor. Being in the animal hospital field has given me not only extensive medical knowledge but compassion and patience needed to be in a physical and emotionally demanding field. While in school, I gained a huge passion for fitness and structure. Training under award winning faculty members and guest choreographers in their respective craft helped with my attention to detail, picking up movement and material quickly along with studying various art forms (ballet, modern/contemporary, west African, hip hop) for 8-12 hours days, kinesiology, anatomy and the history involved with the dance form we were studying. Rather it includes creating a safe space for students to break out of their shell while also breaking out into a dance move! Or helping animals get the best care they can receive; I am no stranger to vigorous hard work and learning what is needed from me to perform any job to the best of my abilities. Excited to take all of my previous knowledge into my next career shift with a team where we can continue to help each other cultivate growth!
