About Queenstar Akrong

Queenstar Akrong is a mission-oriented storyteller and client services professional with a track record of supporting organizations in building social impact initiatives targeted toward underrepresented communities. Over the past decade, she has led the development, creation, and facilitation of nearly 100 social impact initiatives and public policy campaigns to amplify equitable access to education, health, and technology for underrepresented communities.Currently, she serves as a Senior Director at Whiteboard Advisors (W/A), where she works primarily with organizations, state departments of educations, and school districts to increase equitable pathways to college and workforce opportunities for underrepresented students. Additionally, she led the creation and development of Queen’s Court, a video talk show highlighting education changemakers. Before W/A, she spearheaded initiatives at The College Board, including being a founding member and on-camera host for Real Talk, the largest virtual college exploration program series created for black students, which reached over 50,000 students globally during the pandemic. Additionally, she led the College Board's partnership with NBCUniversal on a joint public campaign to guide Spanish-speaking families through the college planning process. She has also been a part-time inclusion workshop facilitator for technology companies, government agencies, and global companies since 2016 and is the proud founder of No Debt Degree, an online advising and resource platform focused on educating families on post-secondary education affordability. She began her career on Capitol Hill in the office of Education Committee Ranking Member Rep. Suzanne Bonamici and Former Speaker of the House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi. She was selected as a 2016 Center for American Progress Leadership Institute Fellow and 2024 Aspen Ideas Festival Fellow and Speaker. She holds a B.A in Political Science and International Affairs from Notre Dame of Maryland University and a Master’s in Education Entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania.
