Trained as a Chemical Engineer, I have built up a wealth of skill, knowledge and experience in the energy, oil & gas and chemical industries as a technologist, project manager and process analyst. I have worked on many large and high profile projects, supplying detailed engineering design and project management services and managing suppliers, vendors and contractors in all locations. A key skill I have demonstrated throughout my career is in analysing and understanding where processes can be changed and improved, and driving those changes through.Alongside my technical expertise, I see myself as an excellent all round manager. I have worked at a senior level in large companies, overseen a joint venture between Exxon and Engen Chemicals, and even founded my own very successful company which went from a zero base to a turnover of R10 million in eight years. This has helped me develop a deep understanding of all aspects of business and commercial management. I enjoy working in teams and can communicate well with all types of people, including across national boundaries. I am now looking for projects/contracts/assingments where I can pull all my experience levels together, also to mentor/assist younger engineers/technologists/technicians in their career development and in so doing, to contribute and make a difference to their development and insodoing, develop my own new areas of expertise. My preferred locations are KwaZulu Natal or Gauteng, however I am happy to take on any assignment in Africa as a whole.
