University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital, a 569-bed acute care hospital, is part of the UK HealthCare patient care enterprise. The only Level I trauma center in Central and Eastern Kentucky and ranked nationally in four adult specialties. They have a bustling receiving area that takes in general medical supplies as well as invaluable life saving equipment on a daily basis. Creating a hierarchy on importance and need, scheduling of delivery, and keeping all personnel, including physicians and their staff, informed on what to expect can be crucial in this environment.

The management and staff work closely together to provide exceptional customer service and overall experience at the restaurant. Summer employment proved a noteworthy training in what to expect in a service environment and provided ample income to help support upcoming financial obligations for college tuitions.

University of Kentucky competes in the NCAA I (SEC) and performs on and off the field in 21 different sports. After a successful interview acceptance of several hundred applicants applying, I was chosen to help promote the university's athletics programs with the student body as well as the community of Lexington. I enhanced fan experience with contests and other in-game activities as a representative. I assisted with sponsor fulfillment on game days while also distributing promotional material around the area. I was well received and asked to manage small groups of others on game day. I assisted both mascots on game day as well, by escorting them around the arena or stadium for safe mobility and provide excitement with exposure to the crowds. This internship is generally for one semester. I was asked to return for another consecutive semester to take on an even more active role in managing others coming into the program, while continuing the same duties listed above. .
