My postdoc is about monitoring soil evolution regarding the impact of the human activity (agriculture) and climate change on soil properties.

In the framework of the EJP SOIL program, I performed a comparison protocol to compare national and european soil monitoring system dataset. This was the first step to do in order to spot the differences between datasets created by each national soil monitoring system of each participant country and the LUCAS Topsoil soil monitoring program led by the JRC. This comparison allows to compare statistically and visually (plots & maps) differences. In the future, the idea is to set some transfer functions to create a dataset for the European soil observatory (EUSO). The developed routine was distributed to each participant country. During my stay at the INRAE, I also compare several ways to map a targeted soil property (ex: soil pH H2O) using data from LUCAS Topsoil program and national soil surveys programs. This was done to provide the best map for decision making using an accurate current state of soil quality and condition. Those maps will be used to monitor soil changes mainly due by human activities and climate change.
