Hi 👋,I am a former 42 student living in Paris. Born in Bordeaux 🍷, I obtained my BAC S-SI, math specialization, with mention in 2019.Initially, I was on the path to becoming a physics or math researcher, but I stumbled upon programming when I was 15 yo. while problem-solving for my math club. I was instantly captivated by the incredible possibilities of this powerful tool (discovering programming felt like entering a magical wand shop 🪄). After successfully completing the entrance exams, I was accepted at school 42 at 16 yo. (although I had to wait a year until I received my BAC before starting). During my first year at 42 (in 2020), I discovered something even more exciting than programming: Machine Learning 🧑‍💻. I was elected vice president and head of education of 42AI, the association that manages nearly everything related to AI at 42, for 2021-2022. Subsequently, I was elected president of 42AI for 2022-2023.In addition to AI, I am skilled in almost every aspect of programming, and I ranked 2nd in my promotion.Currently, I am working on AI Alignment research, aiming to prevent humanity from losing control over AI in the future and ensuring we realize the positive potential of this technology while reducing the negative consequences. As part of this endeavor, I was a SERIMats 3 scholar, mentored by Nicholas Kees Dupuis and Janus. I have also contracted for METR (formerly ARC evals), focusing on evaluating frontier AI models.Recently, I co-founded a new company called PRISM Eval with an amazing team. Our goal is to work on a new research agenda for AI safety, which we call GenAI Cognitive Science (or GenAI Ethology, as I prefer to call it, although it's a bit less flashy). We aim to advance the state-of-the-art in evaluating and interpreting frontier AI models. Additionally, we want to ensure that our research is grounded in the actual needs of AI providers and developers, so we are also building tools based on this agenda to help everyone who wants to deploy GenAI to make them safer in the short term.Apart from my professional pursuits, my hobbies include cooking (vegetarian 🥦), playing music (piano and guitar), indoor bouldering, learning about physics and biology, and chatting with interesting people.
