Serving around 4,000 children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years, and their families in a coast-to-coast network, Educare schools are places of innovation and learning that benefit not only the children and families they serve, but the entire field of early childhood education.Each Educare school is a member of the Educare Learning Network (ELN), which includes Head Start providers, school districts, philanthropists, researchers, policymakers, and other like-minded early childhood champions. As class facilitator, I assist students in their transition to college; providing them with essential information about the College’s policies and procedures, as well as strategies for the development of academic and lifelong success. End-of-year student surveys consistently report positive reviews about my ability to engage the class and build meaningful relationships with students.

While Executive Director we took an organization with no existing sites, and a small working board of directors and transformed it into an affiliate with seven operational sites, a committed board of directors, and service delivery that reached over 1500 students in Hampton Roads. At the close of June 2015, we added over 90 high school students back to the graduating rosters of Hampton Roads schools, and grew the organizational budget to over $500,000.

As Program Director I was able to lead a team of 16 site coordinators, effectively manage the program budget of 15 sites, build and maintain relationships with each of the schools’ principals and stakeholders, and work effectively alongside a team of other program directors.

As Site Coordinator I was able, in 4 years, to effectively manage and lead a senior management level volunteer advisory board, develop and sustain small and major beneficial partnerships, raise funding to sustain us yearly, and positively impact the community in numerous ways.
