In order to commercialize our ad placements, I was leveraging and actively coaching local sales house who were in direct contact with media buyers in their local markets. I was working a lot with those local sales house to put eBay sites on the 'must have' list of media planners and advertisers.In parallel I sourced and closed long term strategic advertising deals with leaders in industries in which eBay was not present (e.g. Monster for jobs, Meetic for dating, Immoweb for real estate (in Belgium))As the revenues targets for the new BU were increasing, we needed to increase the volume and the attractiveness of eBay's advertising inventory. I was in charge of testing new advertising solutions in my markets so that we could understand the potential upside in terms of revenues but also the potential impact on the user experience and so the revenues from eBay's core business.

    As the strategy manager for the Belgian office, I was helping the country manager to have the clearest view on our challenges and opportunities. The output of my work was on one hand a clear reporting on our main KPIs and their evolutions and on the other hand actionable recommendations in terms of investments to make.As Head of Adjacencies, I had the opportunity to launch 2 new business unit (eBay Immo and Advertising on eBay.be) and grow an existing one (eBay Motors). eBay Immo and Motors were using the classifieds business model for which I had to ensure the right balance between inventory (# of estates or cars put up for sale) and the amount of visitors. For both BUs I had to attract professionals as well as private sellers in order to have the best inventory to propose to the eBay visitors. In order to attract professional sellers, I was managing a sales agent who had as a goal to increase our inventory by attracting new professional sellers and making them use eBay more extensively.Advertising on eBay was a totally new revenues stream that the company was starting to embrace, I was in charge of the P&L of advertising for Belgium. In order to generate sales, I have selected a local 'sales house' and negotiated with them the terms of their mandate. I was working with them to put eBay.be on the top of mind list of the largest advertisers and to educate the whole media market about this new publisher they could use to advertise.
