As a 2018 University of Michigan Environmental Fellow, I worked at Appalachian Voices in Charlottesville, Virginia with gracious financial support from the Mertz Gilmore Foundation. I assisted the Virginia Team in their anti-fossil fuels and utility regulation work. Specific projects included research on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's certificate policy for evaluating whether proposed natural gas infrastructure projects satisfy the convenience and necessity requirement. I helped draft the organization's public technical comment in response to FERC's Notice of Inquiry. I also assisted with Appalachian Voices' grassroots and community outreach efforts to galvanize support for our environmental work.
