I received my Master’s in Educational Leadership and Societal Change at Soka University of America in May 2023. My thesis was titled “The Intersections of Climate Justice, Indigenous Liberation, and the Rights of Nature.” In my paper, I argue that Indigenous communities cannot be fully liberated until Mother Earth is fully liberated, as Indigenous people are a part of the land. And so, the Rights of Nature and Earth Law are robust climate justice solutions that would create a harmonious future of co-existence between all living beings on Earth.Over the last few years, my identity has expanded through unlearning and relearning. Today, I identify as an Indigenous Two-Spirit person in this world. I continue to learn more about these identities through Mexica danza, Mexcia temazcal ceremonies, and plant medicine ceremonies. My learning continues to deepen while being in service in these sacred spaces.Post graduate school, I have supported student groups and community-centered organizations as I continue to expand my research on Critical Global Ethnic Studies, Earth Law, and Value Creation Pedagogy. I am excited about creating a project that intersects all my research!
