I led teams in multiple areas, including billing systems, configuration management systems, customer experience improvement, R&D for a collaborative workspace project, and direct ownership of the UX/UI of a flagship product (Chime video collaboration, later renamed Challo). This involved collaborating with a senior team from Microsoft Dynamics on the Live Assist product to move it from an on-prem solution to a completely multi-tenant SAAS model in multiple AWS and Azure data centers. I worked with various stacks such as WebRTC, WASM, H.264 internals, and P2P using React, Node.js, Java, C++, Objective C, and Swift.As a manager, I coordinated remote teams across different time zones and interpreted client and sales demands into product pipelines and sprints. I delivered high-quality production SAAS releases on a predetermined schedule, ensured growth of responsibility and skill sets of junior team members, and handled inter-team disputes and conflicts. I also worked directly with recruiters to find the best talent available, performed code reviews/PR merges, and refactored problems to enable developers to handle big problems a bit at a time.In addition to managing teams, I also had responsibilities in backend and frontend development, including helping to migrate a legacy SVN/Makefile based build system to a git/gradle/jenkins workflow. I worked on tech demo strike teams, Proof of Concept deliverables, and R&D spikes. Furthermore, I worked on release product teams for Allstate, Wells Fargo, Rakuten, and Cisco, and developed documentation for internal and customer use in collaboration with technical authors. I coordinated with the CTO, other directors, and team leaders on direction and architecture.
