My main research interests lie in the intertwined themes of visual culture and architectural/urban representation, especially concerning digital innovation in the landscape, heritage, and built environments knowledge making.I am part of the research laboratory CLIP.LAB (Cultural Landscape Information and Planning) is dedicated to studying cultural landscapes with a specific focus on the role of bottom-up practices in heritage-related territorial planning. I am also part of the IMG-Network international academic network and sit on the editorial board of the scholarly journal “TERRITORIO.”In recent years, I have coordinated two national research projects funded by UNESCO institutions. I was a member of a national academic research group focusing on smart cities, architectural augmented reality, and 5G technology experimentation. I am currently involved in research projects such as BASE5G - Broadband Interfaces and services for Smart Environments enabled by 5G technologies - Smart City and Smart Learning WP (2020-2022), and “Ethno-Graphs. The (textual, graphical, photographic) transcription of field observation as a specific practice of Architectural Ethnography” (2021-2022). I also recently co-edited, with Cecilia Bolognesi, the Springer book titled “From Building Information Modelling to Mixed Reality,” published in the Springer Tracts in Civil Engineering.Since 2021, I have been a member of the doctoral board in Preservation of the Architectural Heritage at the Politecnico di Milano PhD School.I teach in the following courses:Introduction to Visual Thinking - Master in Urban Planning and Policy Design, Politecnico di MilanoFundamentals of Representation - Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Design, Politecnico di MilanoUrban Design and Representation- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Politecnico di Milano.In the academic year 2024-2025, I taught:Fundamentals of representation and Multiscalar representation tools for parametric design.
