I am the founder of SCMP (Student Council of Minorities in Pre-Health). This is a club on Western's campus designed to provide a support network for underrepresented students on the Pre-health track. Underrepresented students include students of color, women in stem, students with disabilities, students in the LGBTQ+ community, etc. As a club, I and others are working to include workshops, social activities, and meetings with healthcare providers who have registered with the club as mentors. SCMP seeks to provide all underrepresented groups with a community that offers a variety of information necessary for pursuing a career in healthcare. We are not minority exclusive! We want to welcome people from different backgrounds, who want a support system and friends to lean on during this arduous process.

My duties include taking patients through the admissions process. This is done by screening patients for insurance eligibility, preparing and verifying patient information for clinical staff, and efficiently answering patient questions.
