I recently graduated from Colorado State University and now I am taking the time to gain experience and figure what direction I want to go with my career and education. I love travelling and plan to volunteer abroad.My main career interests are mental health and animals. I am passionate about helping people and animals and my ideal job would be one in which I am on my feet working one on one with clients or patients.Both my work as a CNA and a theatre teacher has provided me with opportunities in which I can grow and develop my understanding of psychology and people. It has required me to be able to manage my time efficiently, creatively solve problems, adapt my approach to fit the individual, and know when to allow individuals to make their own choices and when individuals need to do things they don't want to.Through my education I have learned about not only the psychology behind behaviors and cognition but also the biological mechanisms that make them possible. I am passionate about improving mental health care and I believe for that to happen we need to find biomarkers that allow us to make more accurate diagnoses and find medication that is effective in treating the individuals symptoms in a way that isn't trial and error.
