About Quinlan Bergh, M. Ed

A successful bilingual Reading Specialist within Arlington Public Schools in search of a career platform to make a larger-scale impact to assist in breaking the cycle of poverty through education and relationship building. Deeply passionate about children’s literacy development, especially English Language Learners, as I believe that the key to breaking the cycle of poverty lies in education itself. Passionate about social, emotional, academic childhood development and the importances of being trauma informed when working with children. I have taught 80 first grade students and 100 kindergarten students in a Title-1 public school with 65% of the students are speakers of another language. Fueled by a data-driven mindset, leadership skills, and promoting positive working relationships, I decided to make an impact on my current school by changing roles to our Reading Specialist. As a Reading Specialist for the past four years, I had the opportunity to collaborate with school administrators and classroom teachers to improve our 480 students' foundational literacy skills. I have been able to leverage my knowledge of structured literacy, children's social-emotional health, and behavioral techniques to coach teachers in my school building.
