 Worked as a member of a 20-person Type 1 crew to contain and control local and national wildland fires. Used a variety of hand tools to construct handline to contain and control wildfires, or prep for burn operations. Member of saw 3 for both seasons. Cut brush and other fuels for direct and indirect handline. Removed hazard trees that were a safety concern to operations.  Obtained FAL2 certification in 2021. Provide structure protection to buildings directly and indirectly affected by wildfire by digging handline around the property and removing flammable material. Participated in backfire, burnout and holding operations to secure the line and halter the advancing fire. Crew Carrier Manager in 2020. Routinely inspected and cleaned buggy while maintaining mileage and vehicle records.  Tasked with being lookout on a fire, providing crew with weather observations, routine updates and notifying them if previously established trigger points have been met. Led a short squad during multiple fire assignments for direct and indirect line construction, as well as burn operations.  Obtained FFT1 certification in 2021.

 Worked as a member of a 20-person IA crew to contain and control local and regional wildland fires. Operated Mark-3 pumps to provide water-suppression to the fireline, while maintaining radio communication with other crews to assess and correct any issues. Used a variety of hand tools to construct handline to contain and control wildfires, or prep for burn operations. Set up sprinkler systems on the fire line to protect portions of the line that could not safely be staffed by crewmembers in the event of a burnout operation. Provide structure protection to buildings directly and indirectly affected by wildfire by digging handline around the property and removing flammable material. Participated in backfire, burnout and holding operations to secure the line and halter the advancing fire. Spun weather and reported findings over the radio to all fire resources. Operated a saw on cutting assignments (2019) , performing hazard-tree removal and cutting swath-paths for the handline to follow. Routinely inspected and maintained crew vehicles.  Tasked with being lookout on a fire, providing crew with weather observations, routine updates and notifying them if previously established trigger points have been met.
