Assistant Director of Operations and Aviation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the airport, including airfield and terminal management, compliance with federal and state aviation regulations, and coordination with airlines, tenants, and government agencies. Ensure the safety, security, and efficiency of airport operations supporting the strategic objectives of the aviation department.Key Responsibilities:• Manage day-to-day airport operations, including airfield, terminal, and landside activities. Coordinate with air traffic control, airlines, ground services, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Implement and enforce operational procedures to maintain safety and efficiency.• Ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, as well as state and local aviation laws. Prepare for and manage FAA inspections, audits, and other regulatory reviews.• Maintain records and documentation required for regulatory compliance. Develop, implement, and oversee airport safety and emergency response plans. Coordinate security measures in collaboration with TSA, local law enforcement, and other agencies. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.• Manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed. Assist in the development and execution of the airport’s strategic plan, focusing on operational efficiency and customer service. Participate in capital improvement projects, including runway expansions, terminal upgrades, and other infrastructure developments. Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Aviation on long-term planning and budget management. Work to enhance the passenger experience by improving operational processes and amenities.• Serve as a liaison between the airport and airline partners to address operational needs and challenges.• Lead the airport’s response to emergencies, including aircraft incidents, natural disasters, and other critical situations.
