I am responsible for developing and executing the strategic direction of Novozymes’ initiatives into functional foods and beverages. Initially this will focus on leveraging an existing probiotics portfolio, and the future of functional ingredients is wide open. The (actively growing!) team I lead is engaged with partners across the organization including business development, sales and marketing, legal and regulatory, r+d, product development, quality and supply, and more.

I lead a team of professionals overseeing regulatory compliance for the food brands under the Nestlé USA umbrella. Our department reviews packaging compliance, ingredient listings, claims, standards of identity issues, and other regulatory and legal matters.

Ganeden makes proprietary, patented probiotic technology available for use in innovative products in a wide range of industries. We are particularly involved in the emerging health foods and functional foods industries and partner with "clean label" and "free-from" products regularly . For Asia, Australia, Canada, and Europe I oversee our international registration, regulatory, and compliance efforts with foreign food and drug and import officials. I work to ensure compliance with packaging and claim regulations, quality, safety and efficacy standards and other concerns outside of the US. I manage a team of sales professionals overseas and manage the relationships with our distribution partners in their efforts to pursue business opportunities. I provide technical, legal, R&D, marketing and other support and training they may need. Additionally, I manage and develop certain key opportunities and projects directly. I also regularly represent Ganeden at industry events by presenting or joining panel discussions on topics related to probiotics, functional foods, achieving foreign approvals, and general experiences of a US company beginning grow internationally.
