Negotiated senior operating leadership positions in several portfolio companies, where both financial investments and management capabilities were contributed.In 2009, launched and then subsequently closed in 2014, a long/short equity fund, SAM Partners Fund I. Oversaw all trading and investments and managed portfolio construction, hedging exposures and risk control for the Fund. Portfolio consisted of core and new issue investments as well as opportunistic trading positions. Geographic orientation was primarily in the USA. Fund was a frequent investor in the IPO and secondary offering markets. Best single year return was 24%.

Made initial investment in SC2 through Stevens Asset Management in 2016. Company had zero revenue with an intriguing single technology solution for social media analytics. In 2017, in conjunction with a substantial investment, I joined the Founder, Robert Guidry, a 35 year US military intelligence veteran, to manage the Company and partner in its growth. Academy Securities is a disabled veteran owned and operated broker-dealer. Stevens Asset Management invested in Academy. I managed the Equity Division for this Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business as I mentored US military veterans in their new careers in finance. Established a successful joint venture with Alembic Global Advisors to provide equity research. Member of the Operating Committee.

Key senior leader of the Operating Committee which ran the Investment Bank which generated a substantial portion of Wachovia’s revenues and net income with over 2,500 employees. Managed over 350 employees in the Equity Division including equity sales and trading for stocks and convertibles, derivatives, equity capital markets and proprietary trading. Successfully managed substantial capital and balance sheet risk for the Division. Took an unprofitable business and transformed the team and business profile sufficiently to create a highly profitable business within 3 years. Helped move Wachovia from 14th in the new issue league table rankings to 9th, serving as a senior client advisor to numerous CEOs and Boards. Actively involved in taking companies public and raising equity capital in the secondary markets. Revenues for the Division more than doubled over my tenure.

Managed the highly profitable Equity Capital Markets Division of JPM. League table rankings improved from 12th ranked to 4th ranked during my tenure with revenues tripling during that period of time. Took Dreamworks public in their IPO, raised equity capital for Motorola, Freescale Semiconductor, Seagate Technology, Verifone, Agilent Technologies, and Cabelas among others.
