Since 2019, I have been a volunteer at Champions for SDGs, contributing towards the progressive delivery of SDGs across the 17 thematic areas.Good health is central to leading happy, productive, and fulfilling lives, which is why I'm championing Good Health & Wellbeing (SDG No. 3). I am committed to creating awareness in areas such as maternal, newborn, and child health as well as adolescent and mental health.

My Industrial Attachment as a Community Development Specialist is one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had. My responsibilities included:• HIV/AIDS stigma and description campaign• Case Management • Capacity building through health talks and community outreach• Sexual education of adolescents living with HIV and AIDS• Conducted home-based assessment for lactating mothers regarding nutrition and hygiene• Conducted home visits for defaulters and high viral load clients• Dealt with gender-based violence issues among children, the youth and adults• Maintaining client’s confidential files and preparing reports and information as required• Economic empowerment of young people on the profitable economic opportunities• Provided individual therapy to adolescents and young people living with HIV/AIDS• Co-facilitated adolescents support groups on social skills and responsibilities and positive living with HIV/AIDS• Coordinated with clinicians and other health care providers to develop case plans and clients’ individual needs.With all the experiences I gained and lessons learned from not just my supervisor, but also my fellow interns and the patients I interacted with, I am confident that I can handle most of the Community Development roles.
