I remember every teacher who has ever made an impact on me during my entire school career. I even remember those who were my colleagues and those who still are. The impact of an outstanding teacher on a pupil's life is significant and could alter the entire path of those who sit in the classroom. The professional relationship, the mutual respect along with the willingness to learn from the learners and the teacher are what make that classroom function at its best. Every day is a new challenge and thinking that your day is going to go as planned is the biggest optical illusion this job can present you...But I LOVE IT!!Yes, this job is time-consuming.Yes, there is a tremendous amount of overtime.Yes, I still love it.Some of the most difficult and ambitious jobs in the world are often the most rewarding. My wife talks about the tough days at home with our daughter, and we talk about the tough days with her and the amount of time we invest in her. It never seems to matter how tough it is, we always say that it is the most rewarding and we would never give it up for anything else in the world. Being a teacher has its similarities, but it is still rewarding; it is still one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am a lifelong student and I enjoy learning from my colleagues and especially my students. I think it is important to have someone to look up to in life however, I do think that squatting down and seeing the world through a child's eyes every so often could make a monumental impact on both parties involved.
