The purpose of the consultancy was to undertake a review of the current state of emergency preparedness from a supply perspective in specific countries in the region, through review of Supply and Logistics strategies, interviews with the country offices, analysis of supply spend versus procurement strategies/availability, mapping of logistics opportunities/constraints, with a view to identifying areas of opportunity and recommendations of how to improve emergency preparedness from a supply perspective within UNICEF South Asia countries.

My duties included: finalizing a 9 month intervention of Palladium in behalf of The Global Fund in Ivory Coast, in particular my deliverables were:• Mapping and diagnostic review of business processes for demand forecasting, supply planning and planning of inbound deliveries, receiving, inventory management, storage, replenishment, and stock transfer across NPSP warehousing network, customer order management, transport, and delivery to direct customers.• Detailed analysis and comparison of different distribution route optimization options based on cost-effectiveness and proposal of a better system for the country.• Developing a detailed, budgeted plan and approach for implementing the proposed improvements with agreed KPIs to track progress and timeline.• End of Project (EOP) report documenting key results, successes, challenges, and recommendations for effective implementation of proposed improvements.

The Global Health Supply Chain (GHSC) – Procurement and Supply Management (PSM) project is the primary vehicle through which USAID procure and provide health commodities and technical assistance to improve partner countries’ management of the supply chain, and collaborate with key international stakeholders to support global health initiatives.As Technical Director in Nepal, I- provided strategic guidance and oversight on key functional areas of the health supply chain in Nepal, - assisted the country director with development and implementation of the project’s work plan, as well as maintained positive working and consultative relationships with the Ministry of Health and Population, USAID, and other in-country partners, - supervised the technical staff and informed the overall technical vision to strengthen Nepal's health supply chain management.

Cote D’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Geneva

The Global Fund against Aids, Malaria and Tuberculosis had confidence in us as a startup. We were asked to take over and finalize a diagnostics study of the Ivory Coast entire health commodity supply system. After a desk analysis in Geneva, working closely with the client, we presented the results in Ivory Coast together with the Global Fund delegation, and I participated in a 3 day in-country strategy revision workshop animated by McKinsey. As a result, all our recommendations were accepted by the Ministry of Health of Ivory Coast.

In this assignment I was responsible for the development and marketing of an IT software tool (called an e-LMIS) that manages supply chains of Medicines in low- and middle-income countries. In this very broad job, I was responsible for acquiring new customers, and for translating needs expressed by customers into software development goals. I was the interface between i+ solutions and the Portuguese IT development partner. I led the development of the strategy in early 2019 and involved the CEO closely in this process. I also developed a country wide e-LMIS implementation proposal for Burundi and got agreement from both GAVI and The Global Fund for this national implementation project of 3.5M USD. This assignment started as a POLE PSM assignment and became a permanent position.

At the end of 2017, I spent two months in Nepal with the Ministry of Health in order to see and experience the Supply Chain challenges for health commodities in low- and middle income countries firsthand. I started the assignment with a week in Pathlaiya central medical store, where I helped to re-arrange the store and assessed the strengths and weaknesses of the operations there. Back in Kathmandu, I assessed the forecasting practices at the central level and lobbied for a first ever 5-year supply chain masterplan.

After 17 years of P&G experience, I wanted to pursue an activity in outdoor sports, a long-time passion of mine. My first assignment was with R’ADYS, where I led a very ambitious project called ‘customized’. I created the roadmap for the project and brought in a new investor.

For 17 years, I have worked in a large variety of Supply Chain roles within Procter & Gamble, one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies. I started in the Germany - Austria - Switzerland market organization where I worked in the market planning department on forecasting, supply and new product initiative management. Following that I was promoted and worked 5 years a customer team supply chain manager for Switzerland. After 8 years in the market organization I moved to the Global Business Units where I worked 2.5 years in Pringles as a Demand Manager for Western Europe, 5 years in Gillette as a Supply Manager for Central & Eastern Europe and Middle East & Africa, and 1.5 years in Global Prestige as a Global New Product Initiative Manager.

Cofounder of Biocomp Nepal, a socially and environmentally responsible private company, converting organic waste of Kathmandu into compost, sold to farmers in the peri-urban area. Recognized in Nov 2012 by UN Climate Change Secretariat as one of 8 ‘lighthouse’ activities around the globe. Member of European board and shareholder. • Established the company: funding, project documentation, development of partnerships, business plans, etc. Worked in close cooperation with Myclimate, our main partner. • Directed supply chain design & pricing; developed a commercial strategy; designed and conducted a market survey; participated actively in product & artwork development.• Recruited local staff, responsible for Human Resources within the European Board.

Set up from scratch a cooperation/research project aimed to contribute to the prevention of Glacier Lake Outburst Floods in the Himalayas.Obtained funding from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Conducted the fieldwork at 4500m altitude during two 25 day periods (pre- and post-monsoon) together with a fellow student, a supervisor and Nepalese support staff.Responsible for the logistics and planning of the project, including importing scientific equipment into Nepal and arranging transport of equipment and food to the research site through 60+ porters.
