In my time as an elementary school teacher and middle school math teacher, I have gained numerous skills that can be applied to many settings. I have designed various engaging lessons a day, and facilitated at least 5 learning activities a day using a variety of training strategies, like inquiry based learning and collaborative learning. In addition, I fostered a supportive learning environment to promote the academic development of my students. I would often need to use my organizational skills and ability to multi-task to accomplish these duties while also maintaining a peaceful environment conducive to learning. My superiors have complimented my strong communication skills and ability to maintain student interest and wonder throughout my lessons. In teaching, I have learned how to adapt my plans on short notice to meet the needs of a diverse and changing audience. Through assessing and addressing individual learning needs, I have demonstrated the ability to drive continuous improvement and success. Just one example is how my most recent group of students grew an average of 0.8 of a grade level in only half of the school year. Due to my experiences teaching during the pandemic, I have shown proficiency in a variety of e-learning platforms and learning management systems, as well as an ability to keep a positive outlook and adapt. Most of all, this experience has shaped me into being a confident professional who is also a supportive and helpful team member.
