I am passionate about data science and data modeling for several years. As a Data Analyst, I had hands-on experience with handling diverse data sets, programming tools, and analytical methods, algorithms, and capabilities. I advocate for the application of analytics capabilities to business problems. I am good at translating complex analytical methodologies into terms understandable by management, department heads and non IT personnel. I also feel comfortable to present analytical findings to a large volume of audience. I got trained as a data scientist when pursuing my master degree in Data Science and Business Analytics at UNC Charlotte. The project-based course learning well equipped me for employment in a wide variety of data intensive industries, such as financial services, energy, retail/supply chain, or healthcare.I am currently working at Compass Group, North American Divison. My responsibility is to forecast sales amount for cost centers owned by Compass Group in order to optimize the labor schedule flexed to customer volumes. This job gives me a good practice of time-series analysis, mathematical modeling, and R programming. Previously, I was a graduate research assistant at USDA-ARS, where I was responsible for analyzing plant genomic and phenotypic data to identify the causal genomic region associated with plant disease resistance. During this, over five years of experience was obtained in statistical data analysis and data mining: regression analysis, ANOVA analysis, clustering and classification analysis, R, SAS and Minitab.Competencies: • data science• data mining• data visualization• business decision making• predictive modeling• time-series analysis• mathematical modeling• SAS/R programming• machine learning• big data• cloud computing• text mining• bioinformatics
