When I first joined, the Nexus desktop wallet was in a poor state, both in terms of UI/UX and its codebase. I embraced the challenge of conducting an 'open-heart surgery' on the app. This involved a gradual, comprehensive refactor of the entire codebase, reorganization of the project structure, and cleaning up the code, all while ensuring that each release remained functional. Simultaneously, I took on the task of redesigning the UI and developing various new features, which was fortunately accelerated by the significantly strengthened foundation of the app. After years of dedicated work, the Nexus desktop wallet has been transformed into a slick, feature-rich, user-friendly, and robust application with a clean, well-organized, and readable underlying codebase. In addition to the desktop wallet overhaul, I initiated the design and development of the Nexus mobile wallet from scratch, which is currently in beta. I also developed a small Node.js server to feed live market data to the wallets and created several plug-in modules to enhance the desktop wallet's functionality.

At Cogo.ai, a tech startup offering a knowledge-sharing platform for enterprises, I collaborated with the team to develop new features and resolve issues across both the front-end and back-end of the Cogo web application.

CityMe was a startup offering a platform for restaurant reviews and coupons. As an early-stage employee, I laid the foundational groundwork for the CityMe web application, selecting the tech stack such as Node.js, MongoDB, and React.js (then in its infancy) in collaboration with the team. I played a pivotal role in the app's technical development, designing the database schema and the RESTful API, and implementing significant portions of both the front-end and back-end. I also regularly engaged with the design team to refine the UI/UX of the web application. Although like most other startups, CityMe eventually ceased operations, the role provided me with invaluable experience, spanning technical skills, startup dynamics, and soft skills as well.

NEM (New Economy Movement) is a blockchain project, and a peer to peer platform providing services like payments, messaging, asset making, and naming system. For this project, I successfully delivered a high quality wallet UI which helped raise more than 440 BTC on NEM's initial crowdfunding and initiated the momentum driving NEM to achieve a record market capitalization of over $16 billion, ranking it #5 in the global crypto market in 2018.
