Quynh-Mai Nguyen is a forward-thinking graphic designer with a repertoire of success spanning 20+ years in the industry. Growing with the traditional and modern advances in design, Quynh began her career while in high school, redesigning and printing business cards for each of the 20 schools in the Lancaster, PA School District. While pursuing college Quynh simultaneously honed her design skills by aiding local business, ad agencies and publications for places such as Pep Boys Auto, Philly Gold Awards and ADV Magazine. With a degree from Moore College of Art & Design, Quynh joined Mighty Engine (formerly known as Osiris Group) and expanded her portfolio to include clients in the tourism, education and bio science communities such as: Philadelphia Visitors & Convention Bureau, Greater Philadelphia Tourism Corporation, Independence Visitor Center, Wawa Welcome America, Philadelphia Marathon, Calvert School, School District of Philadelphia, Dwight Evan's KidZone, Cephalon, iPraxis, and the Science Center. In 2012, Quynh joined a start-up, JaySocial as the head designer and co-conspirator. She continued to work in print design and ambitiously navigated new challenges in UX/UI design with websites and mobile apps for clients all over the world, spanning from the U.S. all the way to the Middle East. Since then, Quynh has applied her career experience as a consultant creating or standardizing brand identity systems for non-profits and for-profits while teaching classes at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art & Architecture. As a local activist, Quynh has used her skill set to volunteer for community organizations. By using cross cultural communications and visual storytelling, she's helped to create safe spaces for community members and break down barriers to fight social justice issues for groups like Philadelphia Freedom Band, Philly Dyke March, Philly Asian & Queer, and VietLead. In her 7 years with the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, she turned entertainment media into a tool for cultural advocacy and grew a small volunteer marketing team into a professional quality production that delivered content on the same scale as other major film festivals in the country. Today, you can still find Quynh in the city driving growth to every corner of Philadelphia as the creative lead for PIDC and the NavyYard. She continues to offer her time as a creative/marketing advisor for local initiatives such as the Asian American Chamber of Greater Philadelphia while raising a little one with her partner and having impromptu dance parties in the kitchen.
