Ziegler Brandweertechniek is one of the leading companies in the Netherlands that develops/engineers and produces firefight trucks for national and international customers. Type of vehicles are very versatile; from a small personal carrier to enormous industrial foam producing trucks. My task as a Project Manager is starting up a newly sold project and guiding it to its completion. Making sure that the construction of the entire project is proceeding according to the time table. Putting people in the right place, and troubleshooting are a few of my daily tasks. Being flexible and multi-disciplined are one of the indispensable qualities that this job requires.

Kramp is a leading international technical parts supplier for agriculture applications. My job was helping/advising and assisting customers, in finding the right solution for their transmission problems.

VEG is a Naval Engineering company. During this graduation project I conducted a research about Ballast Water Treatment (BWT) systems that need to be installed on board of seaworthy ships. These BWT systems clean the ships ballast water, to prevent the spreading of Invasive Alien Species. During this research I focused on aspects like the available system and method of treatment, finance and the consequences of installing a system on board of a ship. IAS was an important part of the research, by developing a software tool which enables customers to select the proper system.

This was my second internship. WVT is a company that adapts standard MAN trucks, which are new and come straight from the factory in Germany. An example of the company's activities is mounting and spreading the rear axles, to make the truck more maneuverable and give it more load capacity. This system was used to be controlled by an outdated conventional electrical system, and needed to be changed in a digital system. I made this possible and installed it successful in a demo truck.

KWINT is specialized in supplying and testing lifting equipment. For example steel cables for (mobile)cranes, steel shackles, nylon straps etc. My main activity was designing a lifting tool for huge flanges (+1m in diam), which are commonly used in the petro- and gas industr

20 week internship. Main goal was to experience a job as mechanical engineer. An example of my activity at this company was designing and building a prototype.
