Self Sought Work ExperienceRecommendation:"6/7/2009I have had Ryan with me for the month of June,doing work experience as a Graphic Designer for my Advertising Agency Frank Comms in Chelmsford.Naturally we are often approached by Undergraduates wanting to practice their skills and work in a fast paced environment and I was not disappointed by the choice we made to have Ryan join us - in fact it is a shame he had to go back to Uni!He was extremely talented and very good in a team. He worked well with feedback and nothing was too much trouble. In our experience a lot of creative designers like to spend hours designing big beautiful designs and hate any feedback from the non-creatives, but Ryan was polite and very receptive. We are a Direct Response Agency and need quick, sharp creative to catch people's eye and to have them contact the client as soon as they see the advert. The clients loved what he produced in sometimes just 2 hours work from scratch! He worked on our Mac with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop CS3.Designs can be as little as 3x1 (3cm x 3cm square advert) upto full pages and we may or may not have had photos or text to supply Ryan. His role would be to quickly look at any client branding online, make up an advert template, drop in any salient points and to size it according to each relevant publication.He picked this up very quickly and also saw the second half of the process which was to send it to the media using many 'Production Flight' mechanisms including Adfast,Printsure, Vio etc...when our Head Designer was away for a week's break.He put together some fantastic New Business promotional tools, creating by himself an online brochure with turning pages, demonstrating what we do and also added these onto our website by using his own initiative.I would have no hesitation in employing Ryan on leaving University and have encouraged him to keep in contact should we ever need him for holiday work.Kind RegardsMelanie Sims"
