About R. Devan Jensen

Devan Jensen has more than thirty years of experience researching, writing, editing, and publishing books, journals, magazines, newsletters, websites, and social media. Hired in 2001 at the BYU Religious Studies Center, he has led talented teams to edit about 320 books or book-length projects, which garnered many awards, including five from the Mormon History Association. He has been an adjunct instructor of business writing, editing, and religion for BYU and Utah Valley University and an editor for the Ensign magazine, Church Publishing Services Department, and Deseret Book Company. In 2024 he received a SAERA award for teamwork, in 2016 he received the BYU President's Appreciation Award, and in 2015 he received the Religious Education Dean's Award for exceptional service. He has published six books and about seventy articles and has presented at BYU Education Week, Church History Symposium, Latter-day Saints in Publishing, Media, and the Arts, Mormon History Association, Sons of Utah Pioneers, Pacific History Association, and Utah State History Conference. As a National Merit Scholar, he received his BA (cum laude) and MA degrees in English from BYU.
