There are occasions when a Drug Free Workplace Policy needs to be created for companies and/or tribes to implement a drug and alcohol testing program. This can be done in a timely manner applying the Federal Workplace Drug Testing regulations. When donors are confirmed positive for substance abuse in a laboratory confirmation they can be terminated. But, if they are sincere about keeping their jobs and choose to attend a program of recovery for their problem, I have created a Last Chance Agreement Program to assist them on their recovery and keep their jobs. My company is responsible for work forces that were 62% drug and alcohol abuse, by adhering to testing, reaching a drug free workplace of 92%. Success is warranted being in concert with the employers and staffs. The secret? Once you have it under control don't slack off or get cheap.The opportunity to work first-hand with those under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and offer a direction positive for them. I have seen the changes towards a better quality of life within the native communities. Any human incarcerated for a long period of time who is eventually released into America's fast moving environment without Life Skills, is destined to go back to prison. The state/federal penal systems use designed budget cuts to keep that revolving door working. Personal Care Consuling can stop that and provide Life Skills to whoever needs assistance. We got to many kids out there who cannot tie their shoes much less clean their butts properly. I have met young adults that don't understand how to pay rent regularly or know how to keep a house clean. I would like to expand on this with working partners. Show less

At the2006 National Convention of the American Legion at Salt lake City, Utah I was approached by the founder of the Killed in Action group to be a part of them in honoring our Native Americans who gave the ultimate sacrifice during their demployment in time of war. We honor our soldiers who have been Killed in Action or later Died of Wounds from any war, conflict or skirmish that our country has been involved in. My focus is primarily with Native Americans. Families on reservations have not been given the full support and recognition in the loss of a relative killed while employed by the U.S. military. We do our best to bring to the bereaved families, the love of veterans with honor and respect as best we can at no cost to them. We are able to do that by the support given to us by our veterans and people with compassion who understand the reality of war and the consequences. We set out the KIA flag at events and explain the reason the flag is spread out on the table. We request of our veterans to sign the flag for the family. Once the flags are so full of signatures no more can be added we take the flag to the KIA family without radio, newspaper or TV media. Its a private ceremony that needs no explanation. Show less

Those of us who worked for MCTUPP are yet today, willing to speak to anyone caught up with an nicotine addiction and for what ever reason is unable to stop on their own. We share a common purpose to carry the message of cessation to another. There were times, a cigarette was my closet friend, the mind blowing withdrawals, endless relapses and promises, pity party depression, physical suffering including itchy eyeballs and the most humbling satisfaction of QUITTING a nasty acquired habit that should have never been tried in the first place. I take personal requests for the fresh and powder green chili, of Hatch, New Mexico during the early part of August. I place the order with a local Hatch ranchito, then I drive there, help load the ordered sacks plus ristas, onions, watermelons and special items. The load is transported back to Kingman, Arizona in a 24 hour turn around, where we set up at Mr. DZ's diner and call customers to come and pick up their fresh chilis. I have had to bring in another person to help me with the driving, roasting and distribution. If it were not for friends in the co-op who are consistent with helping every season this project would be a flop. And the green chili customers are the best anyone could want to do business with, 2640 pounds of the delicious spice passed out 2017.I have never attempted to let this endeavor grow any larger because of the difficulty in keeping a crew together for this small window of harvest time. It is hard work with long hours in August, the hottest month of the Arizona calendar. Regardless, this is a business that has all the potential of expanding as so many people love to flavor their dishes with Hatch green chili. Show less
