Senior Policy Analyst
CurrentIn my role as Senior Policy Analyst, reporting directly to the Executive Director of the Office of Trade Adjustment Assistance (OTAA), I have had the privilege of supporting all 52 states, acting as the crucial link between the six Department of Labor Regional Coordinators. My focus has been deeply rooted in analyzing, investigating, and elucidating the qualifying regulations and statutes essential for advancing the Secretary of Labor’s mission, aimed at providing critical support to Americans in need.As a recognized subject matter expert on the CFR 618 regulatory structure, my responsibilities have included responding to an average of 20 technical assistance requests weekly, offering guidance and recommendations to ensure adherence to OTAA program guidelines and policies. My advisory role has extended to companies, legislators, and other key stakeholders, providing them with insights and best practices for achieving their objectives within the framework of DOL OTAA policies, including specialized investigations into DACA recipient eligibility.I've also been instrumental in developing and disseminating legislative documents, policy guidance, and technical assistance strategies, enhancing the operational efficiency and impact of the TAA program across various agencies. This role demanded a proactive approach to education and advocacy, leading me to conduct regional presentations to sizable audiences, where I shared essential data, addressed common challenges, and outlined best practices for engaging with the OTAA Petition process. Furthermore, I've embraced the responsibility of mentoring new hires and developing team members, ensuring our collective success in supporting the labor community.
