Civil Litigation in the public interest sector. While my primary assignment was representing indigent clients who were victims of domestic and sexual violence, I additionally represented numerous clients in defending unfair/improper evictions. The specific office where I worked, in Elizabeth City, NC was centered in a rural, tight-knit community and necessitated my involvement in community outreach events. Community relations was crucial in this location along with creating and maintaining healthy relationships with local organizations such as the United Way and Hopeline (local Domestic Violence Shelter). As part of forming these relationships, myself and the only other attorney in the office would often draft letters of support for these organizations to assist them in securing future funding, and such favors were extended to our office in the form of arranging support for our clients. Given that our office only operated with two attorneys, I was often tasked with administrative work such as tallying and organizing the office caseload, submitting requests to manufacturers for office supplies, and corresponding with the city officials who owned the building in which we were located.

Assistant Men's NCAA Wrestling Coach at Greensboro College. This included creating workout for the athletes, participating in and running the workouts. Travel with the team and organizing travel itinerary for up to twenty athletes. Recruiting and scouting potential athletes, meeting with the recruits and their families, giving tours of the campus and the athletic facilities. Organizing fundraising events and advertising such events through local media sources. Negotiating yearly budgets with the school administration. Collecting data (wins/losses, number of events, recruitment numbers, athlete GPAs) and reporting such data coherently to the Head Coach and Athletic Director. Overseeing team study hall and reviewing academic work of our athletes who needed tutoring in various subjects.
