Served as pointperson in PHC's strategic redirection to impactful programming that offers a starting point for advocacy, shifting narratives about PA's diverse people and communities and making a case for the humanities as a tool for social change.Develop, oversee, and evaluate humanities programming that grows life skills and resilience, promotes civic engagement and community development, and builds grantee and community capacity. Shift PHC to social justice philanthropy by developing strong collaborations with grantees, communities, and residents, adapting trauma-informed practices, and organizing other stakeholders. Foster cross-sector partnerships and collaboratives around our programs and issue areas. Examples: Orton Family Foundation, PA Department of Community and Economic Development, Philadelphia Department of Human Services.Outreach to diverse stakeholders and communicate about the humanities, culture, and their relevance to strong communities and economic opportunity.Manage and support program staff through changes resulting from our redirection and foster a team culture that provides a solid foundation for our new programming. Directed joint programming with Pennsylvania Council on the Arts -- Humanities and the Arts Initiative, a funding stream for projects combining the arts and humanities, and Arts Commentary Fellowship, awards for individuals interpreting the arts. Collaborated with Penn State University's Institute for the Arts & Humanities on Public Humanities Scholars, a program connecting Penn State scholars and artists with nonprofit organizations in rural PA to conduct public cultural projects. Directed PHC's Humanities Grant program for public humanities projects at museums, public libraries, historical organizations, etc.
