Position Outputs:Provide strategic leadership and direction, advice, guidance and support in the deployment of effective Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Business Solutions which are Innovative, Agile, Digital and Integrated and which support the Transnet and TPL business strategy and goals through appropriate and reliable Enterprise Architecture and Information Technology.Provide key strategic input in the development and execution of the TPL Business Strategy as a member of the Pipelines leadership team.Provide strategic direction and leadership in the development and execution of the Transnet and TPL ICT Strategy. (i.e. Application systems, IT Infrastructure, Business Process Improvement, Innovation, Digitalisation, Security Systems, Business Enablement).Ensure that the physical pipeline infrastructure including all national key points, security infrastructure, applications, interfaces and integration, and related activities are secured and protected by providing strategic leadership and ensuring effective information technology solutions.Provide strategic direction on processes and budgets for ICT programs and projects.

Position outputs :• Provide strategic consultation to assigned line-of-business (LOB) customers in defining or designing business processes, functions and organisational structures, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies based on customer requirements.• Facilitate agreement on organisational work models to meet business requirements.• Consult with business-facing projects and maintain knowledge of their progress.• Participate in enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development.• Participate in enterprise architecture development, including business architecture, information architecture, application portfolio and technical architecture.• Collaborate with the enterprise program management office on reporting project status, issues, risks and benefits.• Seek ways to apply new technology to, and reuse existing technology for, business processes; research and provide information on technical trends and competitors' practices relevant to assigned LOB customers.• Assess near-term needs, using structured interview processes, to establish business priorities; consult with technical subject matter experts and develop alternative technical solutions; advise on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities.• Collaborate with other IT functional areas to remain apprised of project status, and inform LOB customer management of progress; conversely, keep IT's technology and service managers aware of key LOB customer issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflicts.• Facilitate development of cross-LOB solutions that combine knowledge of particular business processes and issues, general technological options, and process facilitation techniques.• Create a team environment and enable staff to fulfil the LOB customer operating objectives.

My team team provides integration solutions that allow for - - the quick and simple integration of different information subsystems, - the efficient deployment of new e-services, - the efficient information interchange with other members in logistic chain and - the provision of necessary information to all interested parties (customs, railways, ship owners, forwarders, agents, etc.)thereby aiding TPT’s drive for efficient operations as a member of the logistics community in ZA. Integration solutions at TPT are powered by the webMethods software product suite.The team also provides solutions that enable Enterprise Content Management which allows business to effectively capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver content and documents to enable TPT to make decisions and take action to achieve its objectives through:Simplification;Automation;Collaboration;Improvement and enhancement of Knowledge Management. Collaboration solutions are powered by Microsoft Sharepoint.
