I'm a builder, investor, and consumer product leader driven by evidence. I've been creating and growing Internet things for 25+ years and investing for over 20. My experience spans the consumer internet, investment (private and public), and gaming industries. I originally joined FB as the head of data science for Facebook's growth teams, successfully supporting the company's user growth from under 2bn people to almost 3bn (primarily from frontier markets), with significantly fewer fake accounts.Earlier in my career in Silicon Valley, I started and scaled data science teams for two global, Sequoia-backed startups that were ultimately acquired. In my previous stint in finance, I was a senior member of the high risk trades team at Bridgewater Associates. In addition to my full time work, I have also advised numerous fast growing startups on data science, analytics, consumer product strategy, rapidly iterating to find product market fit, and aggressively driving responsible growth.I was an early adopter of blockchain technology, first buying bitcoin in 2013 and ether in early 2017, and have in-depth experience with numerous protocols. I was the founding data scientist for Facebook's crypto efforts and have additional work experience in world-class competitive poker, economic research, teaching and personal finance publishing.I have significant work and project experience in predictive modeling (polling, sampling, and time series forecasts), complex simulation, recommender and expert systems, game playing AI, large language models, consumer product and go-to-market strategy, fx and options trading, poker, fantasy sports, and personal financial planning.
