Manager of Paradigm's seismic imaging software, including the EarthStudy 360 project.EarthStudy 360 uses the complete recorded wavefield to provide a highly accurate and detailed description of the subsurface. The system delivers a complete set of data to depth imaging and processing experts, as well as to interpretation specialists, enabling them to achieve accurate subsurface velocity models, structural attributes, medium properties, and reservoir characteristics.

Seismic inversion and true-amplitude imaging are under research. Linearized seismic inversion is derived based on the single-scattering Born approximation. The inversion imposes a scale separation of the subsurface model into long scale slowly varying reference velocity and short scale oscillating reflectivity. In the formulation of the linearized inversion, the forward operator (modeling) and adjoint operator (migration) are extended by some non-physical parameters, such as the subsurface offset, to give the model extra degrees of freedom. The operators may be also extended by angle-domain quantities. The decomposition of dip and scattering angle image gathers by Radon transforming the subsurface offset extension is in the research’s core. Velocity optimization and amplitude analysis techniques are derived with respect to the kinematic and dynamic behavior of the angle-dependent image.

My PhD thesis proposes a non-conventional approach for seismic migration velocity analysis. A Multi-Parameter Common-Image Gather (MPCIG) is established for velocity error estimation as a function of more than one characteristic parameter simultaneously. In addition, other benefits are examined by exploiting the MPCIG for image quality enhancement and seismic amplitude analysis.
