About Rab Smith
My background comprises 25 years of personal experience of living with dependency and 16 years of lived recovery experience where I have studied and worked in the recovery field as a Volunteer, Counsellor, Senior Counsellor, Manager, Recovery Coordinator, and Team Leader supporting adults with dual diagnosis, complex physical, psychosocial and emotional problems linked with substance dependency, in both residential and community settings. I have developed a highly customised knowledge base and specialised skills, including managing residential and community care provision, developing and providing individual and group therapy to adults with complex problems, and outreach and harm reduction in communities and experienced in person-centred leadership, treatment analysis, planning, and delivering evidence-based interventions. I am a strong believer in empowering others. My skills and my past drive me to do all I can to support others in recognising Recovery is Not Only a Dream it is Possible for everyone with the Right Support.
