3D Generalist
Current● 3D ModelingCreating 3D models of objects, characters, environments, or architectural elements using specialized software like Blender & Substance Painter. This involves shaping and refining the geometry to achieve the desired level of detail.● Texturing and Material CreationEnhancing the visual appearance and realism of 3D models by applying textures, colors, and materials to their surfaces. This includes creating or sourcing textures, painting UV maps, and assigning materials to different parts of the models.● Rigging and AnimationCreating skeletal structures and movement controls for characters or objects, enabling animation. Responsible for setting up bones, joints, and controls, and creating keyframes or motion sequences to bring the models to life.● Lighting and RenderingSetting up virtual lighting sources and adjusting their properties to achieve the desired illumination in the 3D scene. This involves adjusting light intensity, color, and shadows to create the intended mood or atmosphere. Also optimizing rendering settings to ensure high-quality output.● Collaboration and CommunicationWorking with art directors, managers, and animators to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality assets. Effective communication and the ability to interpret and implement feedback are vital in this role.● Quality Control and OptimizationConducting thorough quality control checks to identify and fix issues such as geometry errors, texture artifacts, or animation glitches. Optimizing models and scenes to improve performance and efficiency, especially in real-time applications like video games.● Research and DevelopmentStaying updated with the latest trends, techniques, and tools in 3D art and computer graphics. This involves continuous learning, exploring new software features, attending industry events, and experimenting with innovative approaches to enhance visual quality.
