I have been working as Assistant in nursing, personal care worker, and Disability support worker for almost 3 years now, because of which I had a chance to engage with patients of different medical background and developed skill to work as team. I had my Placement at Royal Adelaide hospital, which helped me to expose to world-class research and clinical practices while gaining hands-on experience in patient care. Over past 3 years, I learned to handle the pressure of different clients with various disorders, and handle the fast- paced hospital environment, and I am determined to provide the best possible care to my patients and reach the highest goals in this profession. I do not consider nursing a job but a passion. I understand a nurse is not just someone who takes a patient blood pressure or administers medication but an advocate who communicates critical information to patients and families, makes important decisions on the fly and is compassionate towards all who are suffering. As a nurse, I understand I will continue to care for and work with people from diverse Background and whose cultural beliefs I may not understand. Coming a non- English-speaking background, my practice has demonstrated ongoing commitment to valuing and respecting diversity and I utilise relevant policies to inform my actions when I’m unsure of how best to demonstrate this respect
