About Ryan Bowlen

Invested in changing the ways learners access, retain, and implement learning. Ryan Bowlen started his career teaching secondary English II in pursuit of his lifelong passion: education. When his boss heard Ryan's hobby was web development, he suggested certification in Computer Science. Jumping at the opportunity, Ryan fell in love with CS, started Caney Creek HS's CS program, and coached (along with the great Angela Crawford) their robotics team to 2nd place in the UIL State Championship.When the opportunity arose to work as a Java Developer, Ryan took a wild ride over the next year-and-a-half from a fintech startup to a cybersecurity-awareness company that he absolutely loved. Let go in the midst of a pandemic, he reflected and embraced the reality that he was born an educator and must continue his pursuit of opening doors for others through education. Instructional Design caught his attention in a colossal way. Like, in the way that he has no interest in "voice-overing" PowerPoints as an educational strategy, but wants to restructure the way we approach technological learning kind of colossal. Attending Florida State University's ISLT program, Ryan is pursuing his degree while working in the world of Instructional Design.
