My name is Rachael Burt, and I am a dedicated and motivated professional with a passion for education and student well-being. With over 12 years of progressive experience as an English Foreign Language (EFL) teacher, I have honed my skills in providing high-quality education and pastoral care to students.Currently, I am employed as an EFL Lecturer and English & Maths Lead at Boston College in the UK. In this role, I have taken on the additional responsibility of supporting and organizing extra lessons for weaker students, helping them catch up with their peers. As a personal tutor, I work closely with individual students, identifying their academic, personal, and professional development needs. By setting targets and providing guidance, I ensure that students reach their full potential. Whether it's completing schemes of work and lesson plans, producing assessments and reports, or interviewing potential students, I am meticulous in my approach to ensure quality outcomes.In my previous role as an Assistant SEND Caseworker with North Northamptonshire Council, I played a crucial role in managing caseloads and ensuring the smooth completion of Education, Health, and Care (EHC) needs assessments. This experience has provided me with a deep understanding of the importance of providing appropriate services and provisions to support children and young people in their education and healthcare outcomes. I have honed my skills in effective communication, problem-solving, and collaboration while working with healthcare professionals and other agencies.Furthermore, my experience as the Head of the English Department at Manchester International School (MIS) in Egypt showcased my leadership abilities. I worked closely with teachers to improve students' educational needs, encouraging the use of emergent and cross-curricular activities to maintain motivation within the classroom. By implementing Jolly Phonics, I enhanced students' blending and reading skills, ensuring their academic success.With a versatile background, I have also taught English curriculum, conducted training sessions for teachers, and served as a school counselor.
