I am a Minyungbal wajung from the Yugambeh nations. My peoples’ enterprise, business, engagement and commerce are built on 60,000+ years of innovation and approaches to international trade, diplomacy and governance that will move global opportunities into a new era.I bring a decade of senior executive experience in partnership building, strategic planning, community consultation and policy development; extensive networks across all levels of government, community and business; a demonstrated ability to build collaborative vision; as well as strong cultural foundations. My career has been built to serve the needs of the community in the broader landscape of policy and the national agenda on First Nations Led Climate Justice, Biodiversity and Land Management.I have also developed strategic approaches to advocacy for policy and business sector reform, including engaging a team of solicitors to review federal and state policy barriers for First Nations people in land management. I am passionate about women’s leadership and have co-convened a nationwide network of 150 First Nations women to advocate for women in cultural land management. This network is also expanding internationally to include First Nations women from Turtle Island. My work is underpinned by my longstanding, meaningful relationships within First Nations communities across Australia. Bringing together women from different languages, groups and nations requires me to draw on my high-level facilitation and diplomacy skills and implement a trauma-informed approach with deep empathy and understanding. My collaborations with First Nations women from Turtle Island has increased awareness of women’s roles in fire and land management, and my partnership with British Columbia University provided a global platform to advocate for First Nations Women in knowledge transfer. At my essence, I am a facilitator, broker and connector. My foundations lie in building relationships, trust and rapport before discussing business. First Nations communities have, and will continue to have, trust issues due to historical and contemporary lived experiences with institutions, organisations and non-indigenous structures. First Nations people are the greatest asset to our county, especially in the current global climate and I am committed to creating genuine relationships with communities to position us to build stronger relationships and deep cultural exchange across the Nation.
