I am passionate about teaching high school students, in both core and Advanced Placement English, getting ready to enter college and ensuring they are prepared and motivated to succeed. I am also passionate about mentoring new teachers and National Boards candidates and helping them find success in their journey as reflective and effective educators. I strive to transcend the current negative culture surrounding education and remind myself on a regular basis that, beyond the politics and ridiculous pressure, the real focus is on the students, and nothing else. I also actively work as a scorer for the AP English Language and Composition in the summer and score teacher candidate portfolios online. My goal is to stay active in every level of the educational process... from student, to apprentice, to teacher, to teacher-leader... to ensure that high school students' educational experience is rich, varied, quality, and rigorous.I am also a newly certified and very passionate Les Mills instructor of Body Pump and Body Combat. My goal is to inspire members to reach their fitness goals, one punch, kick, squat, and curl at the time. I use the essence of each program to welcome, inspire, and drive others to reach their full potential.
